Orange or yellow on mauve?

1 March 2009 By Avinash Meetoo 8 Comments

I was in La Laura / Malenga / Rivière Baptiste today for the by-election. Most people I talked to believed that the orange candidate (with its obvious red glow) will win tomorrow.

What I observed first-hand though was that the organisation of the orange partisans was top-notch. And I have to say that they were very enthusiastic. And efficient.

It was a very interesting (social) experience for me.

It was an unfair win for the orange candidate, orange inn bribE electorat avec “increased in adsl speed and decrease in cost”!!! lmao.

thinking about it.. if ramgoolam owns pravind jugnauth [since the dude can’t seem to be able to get elected on his own], and pravind gets to always be the leader of the opposition, wouldn’t ramgoolam be the ultimate ruler of Mauritius?

In case Mauritians haven’t reaslised, politicians form part of a club so don’t be surprised if all parties join together “pour l’interet superieur du pays” to ovecome the econmic downturn. And I think it was a very bad idea for Aschok to re-run for the seat he lost as he was blamed by a court of law and law lords. I agree that all politicians have done what he has done but we have to accept that he was the one who got caught. Now, nothing prevents him from putting a case in court against Pravin whom he claims has won thanks to the money distributed.

I expected the election to be a clean one, specially since it was run because someone lost his seat due to malpractices but unfortunately that didn’t stop anyone from repeating the same think without any fear that winner in turn can lose his seat if there’s a case in court.

    Cry beloved country, cry …

Pravind Jugnauth has been praising himself a lot lately, I just can’t take this guy seriously: to me he’s still a untrained, school boy with scanty ideas about governing a country.

He’ll learn I guess… At least, he is much younger than a lot of the others. And I don’t think he is too much “un fils à papa” in spite of him having been the son of a Prime Minister and a President for so many years.

now the question is how will they distribute tickets for the general elections? alliance social is already a coalition of several parties.. now if msm joins them
    ??

will navin make a seat for a 4th vice prime minister?? lol

alliance social didn’t have a member of their own in this election..
simply because i think it would have been a crashing defeat.. instead they piggyback on pravind…

The sick part of it i think was the racial arguments they used for their campaign..

    @viks

“The sick part of it i think was the racial arguments they used for their campaign..”
Please substantiate on this part. Who used ‘racial arguments’ (do you mean ‘racial’ or ‘racist’?) and against whom?
