Hi Avinash,
Hope you remember me. I think we met when you came for training in Currimjee Jeewanjee and then I saw you in MCCI. Just discovered you blog.
Getting interested to make one of my own. Would need some help as I know little programming.
By the way how much time does it take per week.
Good continuation.

Hi Kailash,
Blogging is easy and does not require any programming skills. Just go on wordpress.com and start a blog.
As for the time required, I would say that it all depends on you and what you want to express!

hello Sir,
i’ve notice you are not taking parallel lectures and no project supervision this year. i guess the rumors are right..
anyway just wanna add it was really great working with you despite not having great marks i feel that i’ve learned a lot
there is something in the way you lecture that doesn’t make the module boring
had great fun in parallel and surprisingly, it was together with programming languages by favourite modules of the whole course.
was Really nice knowing someone like you
All the best
Cheers!

Wow! Mr. Meetoo is very concerned about legals stuffs.
July 21st, 2008 at 11:51
Maybe it’s more about receiving a nice cheque from Google from time to time
More seriously, it’s important to comply with whatever one has abided to whether knowingly or unknowingly (i.e. when one just clicks on the “I Agree” button without reading the legalese…)

Hi Avinash,
I did a search on mauritian blogs and found yours… Nice blog
I also got the blogging virus since march 08. Just a beginner. I try to write daily articles on issues in which I’m interested in but it’s really challenging.

Hello Sir,
I heard you resigned as lecturer. I think that you must have thought of a more interesting and challenging carrier. We have to move on in life. However, the department will miss a professional like you. I added your blog as blog roll in my blog. You can have a look at it. http://faardeen.wordpress.com. Anyway just wanted to know what you doing in life and wish you good luck sir. I have one question, actually I need a hosting. Can you request me which company is the best. I need PHP, MySQL, a domain name and a very high bandwidth together with at least 1GB of storage capacity. I found http://www.ixwebhosting.com for the expert plan costing $4.95 per month. If you have a more powerful servers let me know the link. Thank you.
November 14th, 2008 at 22:39
Hi Faardeen,
Yes I have stopped being a lecturer. I’ve founded my own company and expect to start operations by the end of the month. For hosting, I use Slicehost. It’s rather expensive but I get a virtual server on which I can pretty much do anything I want. Previously I was an ICDSoft customer.
November 14th, 2008 at 22:48
Hello,
Thats pretty cool of starting your own business. I’m pretty sure its mostly about development. I take a look at the Slicehost website. Its expensive and the less storage the company offers is too much for me. I think I will go with the IXwebhosting. Good luck for your business sir. Have a nice time.
Cheers

Dear Sir, can u plz tell me how to sort my previous posts to a new page on the same blog? I already created the new page but cant shift those old posts to the new page? Please help me.. thanks
December 25th, 2008 at 07:07
Hi Lovvy,
I am not sure I understand. Sorting by what criteria? Wordpress supports both posts and pages but, as far as I know, pages cannot contain posts.
Tell me more.
December 25th, 2008 at 10:42
i have many posts on my home page in my blog. There are some posts which ressemble a lot and i want to separate them from the home page to a new page. But i cant see any options allowing me to do this task. Thanks in advance. Merry xmas and happy new year 2009. Enjoy..
December 25th, 2008 at 12:11
Hi Lovvy,
You need to understand that a blog (such as the one provided by wordpress.com) lists your posts chronologically from newest to oldest. You seem to have your nine newest posts displayed (which is the default configuration for Wordpress.) You can change this from nine to, say, three (to only have your three newest posts displayed) in the settings (check in Settings / Reading)

April 7th, 2009 at 10:10
Hi,
I want to know if it is a good idea to trun off Orange Livebox Firewall. I already have a Zone alarm firewall. Thanks
April 7th, 2009 at 10:40
No. The Orange Livebox is powered by Linux and has an excellent firewall which will protect your extremely fragile Windows computer against all intrusions.

Hello..I am just finishing my last year of Electronics and Communications Engineering and am very interested to work in the IT network and security fields. But, firstly I am aware that I may have to do some professional courses. As for networking, I think that the CCNA Security course will be good. But I am not aware where in mauritius I may have this training. Also, I want to learn some linux…I have found the CompTia Linux+ at an institution but I think the RedHat one would be better. Can you please give me some advice on which courses will be perfect to start a career with and where can I do them in Mauritius? Thanks.
May 10th, 2009 at 10:27

Hello Mr Avinash,
i was looking for Web programming course when i found your blog.
can u please let me know if u or any other institiution in Mauritius can deliver
online courses for web programming or others.
thanking you in advance for any useful information you can give me
Best Regards
Shasha
November 5th, 2009 at 14:13
Hi Shasha,
My own company, Knowledge Seven Ltd, provides courses in Web development and, as a matter of fact, there is a Web Development with PHP & MySQL course starting on 16 November 2009 and which will run on five consecutive Mondays.
Feel free to contact me if you need additional information.
As you can see, this is a “normal” course i.e. it’s not an online course. It is possible that this course be run online in the future but this is not currently the case. I don’t know anyone in Mauritius running such courses 100% online. But there are surely a lot of international training institutions doing that. Use Google to find them.

Hi Mr Avinash,
My name is Pravin and I have done my BSc in IT bt precisely in software development. Recently where am working they have given me some projects to complete. (it was already started by a company bt then handed over to us incomplete and i have to complete them). They are all done in PHP and i no nothng abt PHP. Can u help me please?? They told me to download PHP and PHPMyAdmin to acces the database bt unfortunately and unable to do so.
Help me please.
Thanking you for your precious time and help.
November 16th, 2009 at 06:20
Your best bet is to read a good book on PHP (say PHP and MySQL web development by Luke Welling and Laura Thomson) and find solutions to the exercises given in the book. From your comment, I gather you’ll need the Apache web server, PHP, MySQL and phpMyAdmin. All of those are open source products and are readily available for all platforms…
… alternatively, you can come and follow my course on Web Development with PHP and MySQL which is starting today

eski to kapav dir mwa coman pu config utorrent pu mru.Mo servu myT 512 ek mne fini ouvert mo port mais mo max download speed C 30kbps.li normale da?
Thanks
January 6th, 2010 at 12:33
Normal? 30 kilobits/s ou 30 kilobytes/s? Dans premier cas, non. Dans deuxième cas, disons
January 7th, 2010 at 11:02
Err mo suposer ki li en kilobits.mne sanz imP settings et aster mo ggn 50kbps par la. Mais eski li kav al pli vite?
Merci pu to reponse
January 7th, 2010 at 12:05
ADSL 512 = 512 kilobits/s
Donc si to pe gagne 50 kilobits/s, to pe gagne zis 10% to bandwidth. Par contre, si to pe gagne 50 kilobytes/s (1 byte = 8 bits) donc, a ce moment la, pas capav plaigner
January 7th, 2010 at 12:17
ok.Merci
