Bloody hell!
I can’t watch Liverpool vs Chelsea right now because G-Sport 1, the channel on Parabole Maurice which was supposed to show this match, has stopped broadcasting because Gateway Broadcast Services, the company behind that channel, has been put in liquidation since yesterday presumably because of “the current financial and global crisis.”
Of course, Parabole Maurice has forgotten to announce this to its paying customers.
I hope that they fiind a solution to this or else bye-bye…

Well, the problem is somewhat worse…
GTV holds 80% of FA Premier League rights over Africa, including all top matches… with DSTV holding the other 20%…
That’s why Supersport International had just two live games per week…
Hopefully, DSTV will buy the rights from ex-GTV, and according to the head of Supersport International, they will make an announcement this coming week…
Well, this is not an excuse for Parabole Maurice, since they could have negociated with CanalSat Maurice for the matches since they are the same company back in France since TPS and CanalSat merged…
This weekend I managed the best I could with laggy matches on TV Ants, Sopcast, and Justin.Tv. … But just as you said, if Parabole Maurice cannot propose a solution by middle of the week, I’m off to CanalSat… or maybe to a 1 Mega ADSL to have better bandwidth on TV Ants or the others…
Well, I hope for the sake of their receptionist that they can give me a proper explanation of the situation when I call them tomorrow…
P.S. When the number of channels on Parabole Maurice increased, they increased their monthly fee… Now that GTV and Fun TV is gone… and with TPS Foot just being rubbish with old delayed matches… Why does the price not go down as well??? Akoz petrol cher??? LOL.

omg that really made me sick specially when I barely watch Parabole except for football. Come Saturday, No Man U – Everton for me…grumble grumble, fortunately good old mbc is there (image is crappy but present). Later GSports 1 worked well….until the start of the Liverpool – Chelsea match…………no mbc this time!!!

Back to the game, as you know now, Liverpool had to wait until the last couple minutes to win the game even if Lampard was sent off way earlier in the game. I am a Liverpool fan, but I must say that Lampard did not deserve a red card. If anything, Alonso should have been the one receiving the red card. That’s the way I see it.

I called there once more yesterday. I talked to a guy who confirmed that
(i) G-Sport 1 is history (unlike what the girl said two days before…),
(ii) Parabole Maurice is trying to negotiate an alternative channel (with whom?) and this will take at least two weeks… so don’t count on live football this week-end
(iii) I’ll be getting my subscription for March for free because of the disruption
So let’s wait and see (for now…)

Another problem is, if Parabole decides to swap Supersport 3 for Supersport 7, we will no longer have the choice between two 3 O’clock matches on Saturdays – and other overlapping matches on Sundays – (as it were when we had both Supersport 3 & Gsport1)… Hope you’re getting the point
What I mean is what Parabole Maurice should definitely do to still have some value in my eyes at least, is to swap Gsport 1 for Supersport 7 as fast as possible… So that we could have the same choice of premier league matches as before…

First concerning FA Cup:
- on Parabole: Supersport did not buy the FA Cup rights for Africa back from collapsed GTV… So no FA Cup on Supersport…
- on CanalSat: No FA Cup since France 4 bought all the rights for France… and France 4 is not broadcasted on CanalSat or Parabole either.
Second, concening Man Utd v/s Fulham:
It’s being broadcasted live on Supersport 7 for Africa… So hopefully, parabole would switch Supersport 3 back to Supersport 7 when the time comes like it has been done last week. Well, at least I’m counting on that.

hey parabole is just doing their best to minise their loss…….i think they will provide the minimum of english football matches possible….neither this will cost they much nor customers can end their contract before hand, just for the mere reason that we are being provided with FA football…they never said they will give all matches neither had a quota on the matches per week……but no matter wat their reasons will be, if am not given a satisfactory explanation or compensation, i’ll end up immediately

yes we USED to get ALL GAMES on dstv, and all the supersports before gsports came to mauritius.since then, in mauritius, u have all the supersports, but not the saem programme as in SA. even after gsports disappeared, the programmes r still different.for eg, today, VILLA AGAINT STOKE was nowhere , not even on the local dstv..
BTW, i checked, parabole added S7, but i think we got fooled, koz if you go on dstv.com or supersport.co.za, you’ll see that nowehere its mentioned that ON TUESDAY N WEDNESDAY, there’s any game on S7!!!…I dont even see the listings for this week’s facup..if any1 got any news abt it, please inform me!thanks…
and finally, whats this thing ABT NEGOCIATING:(pfff…parabole is the sole company to sell dstv in the indian ocean, why did it have to ‘negociate’…pff

well first off all i have read this blog and can say that there are a lot of things that are not true in this blog , for eg a dstv decoder does not cost 4000 rs here in maurtius it costs
rs 1590 .
Secondly there are matches on ss7 that are played and you can find the
programing on the super sports site = http://www.supersportafrica.com.
Another thing even if parabole is the sole company to sell dstv , the content that is on dstv does not belong to parabole that is why we have to negociate .
Another thing to negotiate a channel takes time and we cant just buy a channel and only know what it will play in a few months , we have to see what they will be giving for the next ten years .
a whole load of things must be taken into account .Had parabole known that gsports were going to put the key under the door matt parabole would have taken steps to replace the channel asap and negotiation would have taken place way before gsprts stopped transmitting .

i had parabole for 3 years and removed it at the beginning of 2008 to put canalsat..
3 months ago, i put parabole again because canalsat gives so many games late, and i now have both!
however, i had opted for family mix..which had gsports
parabole changed my subscription to FAmily, WHEN GSPORTS disappeared and told me they would change it when the have football.on my contract its FAMILY MIX
so thats why im keeping track of what happens.if its confirmed all the games are back, ill tell them to upgrade my subscription
can any plz keep me up to date?i can see today that the liverpool game is on through the guide, but no news for tomorrow
if the games there tomorrow too, ill upgrade it

I called parabole the other day to ask them to change my subscription after there was an error and they gave me parabole family.And guess what?before i tell them my name, that stupid mannerless lady told me i have only parabole family and thats what in the contract!!!

parabole has just introduced HD football matches on supersport3..but they don’t want to give the HD decoder to existing customers..only new subcribers will get the hd decoder..existing customers will only benefit from hd in january 2010..that’s unjust…..

Canasalt is better for football, because you get every important Champions League game (ManUtd,Chelsea,LFC,Real,Barca), plus English Premier League, Spanish football for Barca and Real, and Italian football.
Parabole is way overpriced and you do not get every champions league match. FA Cup and League Cup are not that important.
