rel=”nofollow” is here to save our sanity

Google has recently presented a new technique to completely eliminate spam from weblogs.

Basically, every user submitted link MUST have the rel=”nofollow” attribute added. This MUST be enforced by the weblog software (eg. WordPress or Movabletype). When this attribute exists, Google DOES NOT FOLLOW the link hence completely nullifying the effect of comment spam (which is to disrupt Google’s PageRank algorithm).

Nice :-)
