Of course Steve Jobs have flair and a good sense of marketing. For me it's simple Apple=Innovation.

Avinash: Nice design for your blog. think the updated adsense TOS requires a privacy page. Take a look at it.

He does have flair, alright. But, above all, he is a very good presenter/salesman. He knows how to build hype around hsi products.

@fluxy
Bill Gates deserves a lot of respect indeed. Even Apple had a head start over Microsoft. However, Bill Gates has made some wonderful and critical decisions to take Microsoft where it is today, that is, like it or hate it, Microsoft is here to stay. This is especially true in the corporate world.

@Avinash
To your list, I'll add Mike Lazaridis (Research in Motion). He realised that people could well use two thumbs to type messages rather than just one finger. , and invented the CrackBerry...I meant the BlackBerry. BlackBerry users are addicted to their devices, literally. On planes, they have be reminded more than a few times to switch off their BlackBerries, and as soon as the planes land, they can't resist turning them on.

I got an iPhone 3G last Friday :D Here are some first impressions and thoughts. It's hard to under-hype that device.

I agree with you fluxy. Like Steve Jobs, Bill Gates also changed the world. People like Vinton Cerf, Larry Ellison, Linus Torvalds, Richard Stallman, etc. also did a lot.

What's cool is that they all started working in little startups which then became enormous enterprises.

I have read that many people are quitting the big companies like Microsoft, Amazon and Google to create their own startups lately. I guess they are all trying to develop that one Web 2.0 mobile application that we'll use in the near future...

Exciting times ahead :-)

@Crank
LOL! He is really poor...In fact, he only gets one dollar as salary at Apple each year! ;) (i.e. excluding the stock options and private jet)...

Mind you, in the keynote picture above, he's wearing his one of his best outfits...Jobs is known for attending meetings barefoot and walking around the Apple and Pixar campus in cutoff shorts!

@Avinash
I wouldn't go as far as saying that he's elegantly dressed...But he surely loves his is work uniform! ;) He once commented on the fact that he buys the same shirts and jeans for one good reason: so he can spend more time thinking about what's really important and not bother about what to wear every morning! Talk about Think(ing) Different(ly)!

Indeed, his vision and accomplishments in the computer industry deserves much respect. The question is who will succeed such a charismatic leader when he leaves his baby Apple...

who cares what you wears ;)... His head is worth more ;) and he has the money :P

To think he managed to make the ipod something similar to i dunno, a "necessity" that some ppl cant think living without...reminds me of something i read, long time back, they would say "look for it" when you had a question, now its "google it".

LoL flair yes, but its a costly flair when you look at the price of apple's product :D..what would happen if he decides to review the prices of his products down :D (like the mac book pro :P)...

I wonder what he will come up next with (as long as its not expensive ^^)
