That's what every Liverpool supporter should say: LFC always starts the season with a 6 point deficit at the beginning of the season (yes. Manure double LFC season in season out). So when do you want them to win the Premiership?

Catchup game till it's already late?

One thing for sure, Houllier knows how to beat Manchester United. Under his management, Liverpool managed to beat United more than a few times, including a wonderful goal from Gerrard.

To Avinash G:

Both are tough. Winning the Premiership is tough. And winning the Champions League is also tough. My point is that English teams do not, in general, win the Champions League.

The only way to explain this is that the football played by the English teams is not suited for Europe.

Of course, there are exceptions like Liverpool in 2005 (and 2007) and Manchester in 1999 (nearly 10 years ago) but what have Arsenal and Chelsea done in Europe? Nothing substancial. Especially compared to Real Madrid, Barcelona, Milan and Juventus.

As for Liverpool's match against Inter, I also think that it will be epic. Inter looked formidable yesterday. Imbrahimovic and Cruz are fantastic.

To Patrick:

This said, I would also love Liverpool to win the Premiership. We have been waiting for 18 years. This is still less than the 25 (or 26?) years Manchester United supporters waited :-)

Avinash:

Just like you, I'm a Liverpool Fan. And while I like them to win the Champions League once again, I also want to see them win the League title too. It's been a long time. I will try to be patient. After all, Manchester United waited for 25 years before winning it again. I remember teasing my friends (in college) saying :"You have not seen you team win the league since you've been on this planet." Now, it's my turn to wait.

The "rivalry" between fans from both sides is fun. It's friendly, and fun. I miss that. In Canada, football is not the number one sport, and therefore, when my team win, I don't have anyone to rub it in, nor have anyone to rub it in when Liverpool lose.

But to win the English title, you have to play 38 games, and avoid more than 4 defeats to win it.

In the champions league you can afford to lose games (group games + 1 of two legged games). So, while comparing we can say that winning the English Title is much harder than Champions League. ;o))

And while watching Inter play yesterday, I have to say.... Liverpool fans have to prepare for a torrid time at San Siro. hehehe
