I’ve been busy programming lately. I’ve been working on a sort of Tivo Lite software which connects to Canal Satellite’s website, fetches the programme for all channels and advises about what to watch.
For the time being, things are going smoothly. I’ve done the first part of the application which fetches the TV programme and transforms it into nice XML. Now, I’ll work on the next part of the programme which is bound to be more challenging but also more interesting. Please find everything at Sourceforge. The programme is, of course, open source software.

Juju, c’est facile. Je suis en train d’écrire un programme en langage Python qui se connecte automatiquement sur le site web de Canal Satellite pour récupérer les émissions du jour.
Avinash, j’ai téléchargé le code. C’est sympa que tu aies choisi Python. Ce qui serait encore mieux, c’est d’utiliser wxPython pour l’interface. Je peux te donner un coup de pouce dans ce sens là.

I just downloaded the code and will see if I can enhance it, though I don’t know what I will do with it afterwards as I do not have Canal Satellite.

When u mean get its programmes, its getting infos about the films to be diffused on the channels, or getting the films directly to be downloaded or streamed? And where have you reached in that project?
No. I stopped a long time ago. I’ll give that another try when I have some free time…
